PRESENTER: Mark Sheldon-Stemm
LOCATION: Online – Zoom

Join seasoned professional Mark Sheldon-Stemm as he discusses how staff can implement the requirements of the new aged care act and standards. With 272 requirements and 1,236 pieces of evidence needed in residential care to meet the new regulations how can providers make it easy for staff to understand and take up the changes?

In this 1-hour session the basis of the changes is outlined so participants can gain insights in how to meet the new requirements.

In this session, we will explore:

  • The areas where assessors will require evidence the new standards are being met.
  • What care/nursing/domestic/management staff need to do to demonstrate they are meeting the requirements.
  • A basis for completing a gap analysis within the current service on areas that may require improvements. Including a tool that can be used to undertake the gap analysis.
  • The introduction of the concept of a model of care which underpins best practice in aged care.
