This session focuses on the recently introduced Specialisation Verification Framework.  It covers the rationale and structure for the Framework, the key action areas, the application process and the evidence requirements to be met for each of the nine potential areas of specialisation. 

About the presenter

Glen Sorensen founded Age Communications in 1988 after 10 years in the community services industry as a service provider, academic and government officer. Since then, Glen has worked with all levels of government across Australia, large and small non-government agencies and the private sector. He has worked extensively in the aged care sector as a consultant, researcher, resource developer, facilitator and trainer.   

Glen is the author of When I’m 64 and Options for the Ageing: the complete guide to support and care of older people. He is the writer and presenter for the Walk the Person-Centred Talk DVD resource on engaging consumers in person centred approaches. He is accredited in the MASK-ED ™ (KRS Simulation) technique, a high-fidelity simulation experience where the educator uses silicone props to bring the client into the training room. He is a specialist in the areas of wellness and time–limited reablement.
