Program Coordinators and Managers, Diversional Therapists, Activity Officers, Volunteer Coordinators and Volunteers who work with clients in these settings

This half day experiential workshop teaches participants how to structure and run sessions that use word association, storytelling, oral history and free-form poetry writing to engage and stimulate older clients in social support programs, day activity centres and residential care.

The workshop will cover:

  • Structuring sessions that engage older people as storytellers
  • Activities with words
  • Turning participant reminiscences into free-form poetry 

All participants receive a comprehensive handout with ideas and instructions for a range of creative word-based activities with older people.

 Participants are encouraged to bring a USB for downloads of further resources.
