This half day experiential workshop teaches participants how to structure and run sessions that use word association, storytelling, oral history and free-form poetry writing to engage and stimulate older clients in social support programs, day activity centres and residential care.
The workshop will cover:
- Structuring sessions that engage older people as storytellers
- Activities with words
- Turning participant reminiscences into free-form poetry
All participants receive a comprehensive handout with ideas and instructions for a range of creative word-based activities with older people.
Participants are encouraged to bring a USB for downloads of further resources.
