The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety commenced in Adelaide on 18th January 2019.
The Commission will consider the quality of aged care services and various issues impacting the future of aged care in Australia, and will make recommendations accordingly. This seminar is designed to provide some commentary around responses to the Commission’s invitation to providers to submit information, an update on where hearings have focussed to date as well as open up initial conversations with the sector to build capabilities as it proceeds further.
We will look at:
- Learnings from the preparation of responses to the invitation from the Commission to provide, amongst other things, details of ‘occasions of substandard care’. Counsel assisting the Royal Commission has stated that substandard care will be a key focus of the Commission
- Update on where hearings have focused to date
- A review of the Commission’s Terms of Reference and where the focus of hearings might be going forward (including any information provided by the Commission in that regard)
ACIA highly encourage members and non-members to forward feedback, concerns or inquires to enquiry@acia.asn.au on or before Thursday 25th April 2019 to design further learning opportunities in May 2019.
