Professional Boundaries – Building and Maintaining the Right Relationships

Do you know what the expected professional boundaries are for staff working directly with people and families receiving support?

This course will teach you the value of professional boundaries, step you through what this looks like, and guide you to build and maintain the right relationship with the people you support.

Part 1: e-learning (self-paced module) online

• Know what Professional Boundaries are
• Understand how these boundaries benefit and protect staff and the people they support
• Recognise when you might be working outside of Professional Boundaries 

Part 2: Instructor Led Training (ILT) via Zoom Duration: 1 hour

• Explore the concept of a balanced approach, and what this means for you
• Learn the areas where a breach or violation of Professional Boundaries commonly occur and how
• Gain experience using case studies to apply these learnings

Who should attend:

• Supervisors of staff providing direct care and services
• Care and Support Staff in Aged and Disability Services
• Contractors (e.g. gardening and maintenance staff)
• Volunteers
